What To Expect

Our dedicated clinical study site is located on the 3rd floor at Radio Otago House, 248 Cumberland Street, Dunedin.

Facilities include:

  • 2 separate sites containing up to 30 beds (please note: male and female participants are housed together)
  • 2 separate shower enclosures
  • Male and Female toilets
  • Cafeteria with tables and chairs
  • Lounge area with television and DVD (some DVD are provided, however please feel free to BYO)
  • Wireless Broadband Internet Connection
  • Pool table
  • Filtered water freely available


Lunch and Dinner meals are provided:

  • Lunch 1.15pm (consisting of: roast vegetables, roast meat e.g. Chicken, Lamb, Pork or Beef, garlic roll and dessert)
  • Dinner 6.15pm (e.g. Lasagne, Kebabs, Spaghetti or Chicken enchilada, Garlic rolls and fresh fruit)

No other food is available on site. On the dosing days, you are only allowed to consume the standard meals provided at the clinical site (i.e. no additional food intake is allowed). The meals provided however are substantial and nutritious.

No visitors are permitted on the study site during the study periods.

Please bring your own toiletries and recreational activities e.g. portable TV (no larger than 14 inch), computer (preferably laptop only), books, study material, board games etc. If you plan on using any electrical devises, please supply your own power board/extension cord. Tables and chairs are available in cafeteria area. Please be aware that it is a functional study site with many volunteers and staff and finding a quiet area can sometimes be difficult.

Lights out in bedrooms at 11pm and lights on at 6.45am.
