Participation in a clinical trial is voluntary. Becoming a volunteer is a benevolent act: as a scientific subject, you are helping to advance science and medicine by contributing to medical research. As part of a trial, you are also playing an active role in your own health care and at ZenTech, you will have access to expert medical care during the trial. If you decide you would like to participate in a study, you will be required to meet specific inclusion criteria and pass all pre-study assessments. Volunteers are compensated for their time and inconvenience as a result of participating in a study.
What to expect as a volunteer? The majority of your time as a volunteer will be spent in a relaxed manner and you will have freedom to study, watch TV or DVD's, use the Internet, play pool, chat with the other participants or read a book, among other things. As a participant in a study, you will have to adhere to certain study requirements and restrictions and it is important that you follow the instructions that are given to you.
